Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau conducted an investigation regarding the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old female in the City of Norwalk. The incident occurred at the Los Alisos Middle School, during school hours.
During the investigation, an additional female juvenile was identified as a sexual abuse victim stemming from an incident in 2017. The victims’ schoolteacher, Scott Waln, was identified and arrested for Lewd Acts with a Child Under 14 Years of Age.
On May 16, 2022, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office at the Norwalk Superior Court. The District Attorney filed one felony count of Lewd Act Upon a Child Under Age 14, and one felony count of Forcible Lewd Act Upon Child Under Age 14.
The suspect remains in custody and is being held on $1,200,000 bail.
