**UPD#LASD Homicide Detectives Responded to Inglewood PD Officer Involved Shooting Invest. 10900 block of Osage Avenue, #Lennox
Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into a shooting involving an off-duty Inglewood Police Department officer. Deputies assigned to South Los Angeles Station responded to the location regarding an officer shot at the location. Upon arrival, they discovered officers from Inglewood Police Department and Los Angeles County Fire paramedics rendering aid to the victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. The victim was identified as an off-duty Inglewood Police Department officer.
Detectives later learned the victim was at the location assisting a family member in possibly retrieving property. While at the location, he was confronted by the suspect, male black adult, who produced a handgun and fired multiple times at the victim striking him in the upper and lower body. The suspect fled the location in a light-colored sedan northbound on Osage Avenue and out of view. Detectives are conducting interviews of the involved parties and are processing evidence at the scene.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to the 10900 block of Osage Avenue, in the city of Lennox to investigate an off-duty officer involved shooting. The incident was reported Thursday, March 31, 2022 at approximately 10:10 a.m.
There is no suspect information at this time.
One officer sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Whenever a deputy-involved shooting occurs involving Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies, and a person is struck by gunfire, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene. These include separate investigations by the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department immediately notifies the Office of the Inspector General who sends a representative to the incident scene and provides independent oversight throughout the investigative process. Once concluded, a preliminary review is conducted by the Critical Incident Review Panel to determine whether any immediate actions are warranted. Every aspect of the shooting is reviewed by the Sheriff's Executive Force Review Committee. Input from Constitutional Policing Advisors is provided during the process. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Justice System Integrity Division, conducts a legal analysis to determine whether any criminal charges will be filed and if the shooting was legally justified.
