Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Black adult. The incident was reported Sunday, March 20, 2022, at approximately 1:40 p.m., on the 1400 block of Temple Avenue in Compton.
Compton Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 1400 block of Temple Avenue regarding a call of an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they discovered the victim laying on the street suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body. Paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
A dark colored sedan was seen leaving the scene, northbound on Temple Avenue and out of view.
Detectives are processing the scene, canvassing the area and conducting interviews of additional witnesses.
