Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing to assist the Bell Gardens Police Department with their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that left one man dead and another injured in a marijuana store in Bell Gardens.
Officers from the Bell Gardens Police Department responded to a business in the 5800 block of Florence Avenue regarding a shots fired call at 7:54 PM last night. Upon arriving two Hispanic men in their late teens or early twenties were discovered inside suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the males was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was transported to a nearby hospital where his condition is unknown.
Detectives learned several individuals entered the business in what appears to be an attempted robbery. A gunfight ensued leaving two men shot inside. Several individuals fled the business and remain outstanding.
There is no suspect or suspect vehicle information and the murder weapon remains outstanding.
This shooting is being investigated as gang related.
