Narrative: | |||||
A 43-year-old Fillmore woman was arrested for falsely reporting numerous emergencies to Ventura County Sheriff’s Dispatch by texting and calling 911. During the months of January through March of 2022, Ventura County Sheriff’s dispatchers received several calls and text messages from an anonymous caller. The caller reported various emergencies in the City of Fillmore which prompted patrol deputies to respond. One of the false calls prompted the patrol deputies to respond with lights and sirens to an emergency. It was determined that all the calls and text messages were made or sent from the same telephone number and ultimately all the emergencies were falsely reported. The Fillmore Detective Bureau began an investigation and quickly identified the suspect responsible for these crimes as Pauline Salazar, a Fillmore resident. On March 15, 2022, detectives located and arrested Salazar for these crimes. Detectives and patrol deputies conducted a probation search at Salazar’s residence. During the probation search, illegal drug paraphernalia was located. Salazar and another adult male at the residence were determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and both were placed under arrest. In addition, Salazar had an outstanding Ventura County arrest warrant for violation of probation. Salazar was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for being under the influence of a controlled substance, falsely reporting an emergency, and the outstanding warrant. Her bail was set at $22,500. Salazar’s next court date is set for March 18, 2022.
