Amber Alert
Update 6:11pm: We are thankful to report Jacob has been found. A Sunnyvale patrol officer conducting a search located Jacob inside the car in a parking lot approximately 4 miles away. As a precautionary measure Jacob has been taken to a local hospital. He appears to be unharmed and healthy and will be soon reunited with his mother.
Update: The Brown 2008 Buick Enclave being sought has no plates. The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to reunification of Jacob Jardine with his mother.
Update 8:54 am: At this time we are attempting to contact 29 year old Luong "Tammy" Huynh. We believe Tammy may have information that will help us locate Jacob Jardine. If you know Tammy or have recently seen or spoken with her, please contact us immediately at 408-730-7100. Photos will be attached.
An Amber Alert has been activated for 2 year old Jacob Jardine who was inside of a brown 2008 Buick Enclave, unknown paper plates, that was stolen at around 3:51 a.m. this morning. Jacob is 3' tall, 25 pounds, with red curly hair and brown eyes. He was wearing the sweatshirt seen in the attached photo and white and gray pants. If you see Jacob or the vehicle, please call 911 immediately.
At 3:51 am officers responded to the 500 block of north mathilda avenue on report of a child abduction/vehicle theft. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Jacob Jardin had been taken when his mother's car was stolen while she was unloading groceries. Jacob was inside the car. Sunnyvale officers and detectives are actively searching for Jacob at this time. This is an active investigation with rapidly evolving and changing information. We have no additional details to share at this time, we will continue to provide updates through our social media platforms.
