Narrative:
On February 17, 2022, Thousand Oaks resident, James Darpino, was arrested in connection with a commercial burglary from the 300 Block of Mobil Avenue, Camarillo.  The stolen property was subsequently recovered and returned to the business.
 
On February 15, 2022 detectives assigned to the Camarillo Investigations Bureau began investigating a commercial burglary, which occurred on February 14, 2022.  The business reported a loss of approximately $10,000 in stolen property.
 
Nearby video surveillance was obtained, and detectives were able to positively identify the suspect as James Darpino. Information was shared with Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigative units.  On February 17, 2022, detectives assigned to the Thousand Oaks DEU located Darpino in 2000 block of West Hillcrest Drive in the city of Thousand Oaks.
 
Detective’s assigned to the Camarillo Investigations Bureau responded to the location and contacted Darpino.  Detectives learned Darpino pawned the property in the city of Camarillo shortly after the burglary.  Detectives ultimately recovered all stolen property and returned it to the business.
 
Darpino was arrested for commercial burglary and is currently in custody at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility with a bail of $35,000.
