Hard Freeze Warning until 09:00AM Sunday

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 23 degrees this morning. And sub-freezing temperatures as low as 21 degrees tonight.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast and southern Mississippi and southeast Louisiana generally along and north of a line from Napoleonville to Laplace to Pascagoula.

* WHEN...For the first Hard Freeze Warning, until 9 AM CST this morning. For the second Hard Freeze Warning, from 11 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Hard freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Instructions:

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing. Remember to provide pets and livestock with warm shelter and unfrozen drinking water.
