Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 34 year old Hispanic man in Palmdale. 
 
Palmdale Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a home in the 4100 block of East Avenue Q-14 regarding a domestic violence call at 10:00 this morning. The call was updated to state there was a gunshot victim at the location. 
 
Upon arriving, deputies discovered the victim lying unresponsive in the driveway suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 
 
Investigators learned the victim was driving past the home, his ex-girlfriend’s residence, when he saw a man, identified as Suspect Rudy Anthony Rodriguez Jr male Hispanic 35, in a car parked in the driveway. The victim approached Suspect Rodriguez and an argument, then physical fight, ensued in the driveway. Suspect Rodriguez drew a handgun and shot the victim multiple times. Suspect Rodriguez entered his car, a silver 2009 Honda Accord, and sped away east on Avenue Q-14 out of sight. 
 
The suspect’s silver Honda was found abandoned a few miles away from the scene. 
 
The suspect and the murder weapon remain outstanding. 
 
Suspect Rodriguez should be considered armed and dangerous. 

The incident does not appear to be gang related.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are responding to a shooting death investigation. The incident was reported Friday, January 21, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m. on the 4100 Block of E. Ave Q-14 in the city of Palmdale.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
