INCIDENT: Homicide Investigation
LOCATION: 13700 block of Bear Valley Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Kody Lee McDufienunnery, 18-year-old Los Angeles resident
Christine Kathleen Proffitt, 19-year-old Victorville resident
VICTIM(S): Deven Dalton, 20-year-old resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY: On January 13, 2022, deputies from the Victorville Police department responded to the 13700 block of Bear Valley Road for reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Deven Dalton, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Dalton was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigators with Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. During the course of the investigation, the suspects were identified as Kody Lee McDufienunnery and Christine Proffitt.
In the early morning hours of January 15, 2022, McDufienunnery and Proffitt were located and arrested. McDufienunnery was booked at High Desert Detention Center for PC 187-Murder. Proffitt was also booked at High Desert Detention Center for PC 32-Accessory After the Fact.
