Suspect: 17-Year-Old Male, Resident of San Bernardino, California

The Rialto Police Department detective bureau identified a 17-year-old male resident of San Bernardino, California as the suspect who shot and killed Juan Carlos Juarez on October 7, 2021.  On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at approximately 2:00 PM, detectives coordinated with the San Bernardino County Juvenile Probation Department, and took the juvenile suspect into custody without incident in the 900 block of E. Gilbert St., San Bernardino, California. The suspect was booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of PC 187(a) – Murder, with no bail. 
 
Original Press Release 
On October 7, 2021, at approximately 11:15 pm, the Rialto Police Department Communications Center received a call regarding shots fired with a victim down in the 100 block of West Cascade Drive. Officers responded and located a gunshot victim.  The victim was transported by Rialto Fire Department to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) where he was pronounced deceased.  It appears that there were three male suspects involved.  What transpired between the victim and the suspects prior to the shooting is unknown at this time. Rialto Police Detectives were called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
