UPDATE #LASD Homicide Detectives Responding to a Shooting Investigation, 1500 block of W 156th St #Compton
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult. The incident was reported Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at approximately 6:15 a.m., near the 1500 block of W. 156th St, in the city of Compton.
Homicide investigators learned that deputies assigned to Compton Station responded to the indicated location regarding an attempted robbery and gunshot victim call. Upon their arrival they located a male Hispanic adult, in his 30’s, suffering from several gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Investigators learned that the homeowner exited his residence and was getting into his vehicle in the driveway. The homeowner was confronted by the male Hispanic adult who was holding a knife in an apparent attempted robbery. The homeowner, who was armed with a firearm, shot the male Hispanic adult.
The male Hispanic was pronounced deceased at the scene. The homeowner was cooperative and is currently being questioned by Homicide investigators.
The firearm the homeowner used, as well as a knife were recovered at the scene.
