Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a woman. The incident was reported Saturday, November 27, 2021, at approximately 6:16 p.m., on the 4100 block of Whittier Boulevard in unincorporated Los Angeles.
Homicide investigators have arrested Suspect Joseph Huertas, male Hispanic 29 years-old, for the stabbing death of a female Hispanic in her 20’s. The suspect is the ex-boyfriend of the victim.
Suspect Huertas was arrested for murder, Sunday, November 28, 2021, and is being held in lieu of $2,000,000 bail. He is expected to appear in Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
The age and identity of the victim will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

East Los Angeles Station deputies responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from stab wounds to the upper torso.
The victim, female Hispanic in her 20’s, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
There’s no suspect information available at this time.
