Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding an officer involved shooting in unincorporated Los Angeles.
Early this morning, an officer from the San Fernando Police Department attempted to stop a white GMC pick up for a traffic violation. A pursuit ensued that led the officer to Little Tujunga Canyon Road. The officer lost sight of the suspect and terminated the pursuit. As the officer continued north, in the 13000 block of Little Tujunga Canyon Road, she came across the now disabled GMC pick up on the dirt shoulder.
The officer exited the patrol car and came under immediate gunfire. An officer involved shooting occurred.
An extensive search of the area was conducted; however, the suspect was not located. He’s described as a Hispanic male in his mid thirties.
The officer was not injured in this shooting.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau and Special Enforcement Bureau personnel are assisting San Fernando Police Department with an officer involved shooting investigation. The incident was reported Monday, November 8, 2021, at approximately 3:40 a.m., on the 13300 block of Little Tujunga Canyon Road in Sylmar.
The male Hispanic adult suspect was involved in a shooting with an officer, he then fled into the terrain nearby. It is unknown if the suspect was struck by gunfire.
LASD Special Enforcement Bureau is assisting with the search for the suspect.
The officer was not injured in the incident.
