| On November 3, 2021, Thousand Oaks Patrol deputies arrested two suspects who were actively involved in a residential burglary crime spree. Throughout the late morning and early afternoon of November 3, 2021, patrol deputies responded to three different residential burglary calls. Patrol learned the suspects had forced entry and ransacked a home on Houston Drive and stole property. From there, the suspects drove to the area of Lynn Ranch and forced entry to a home on Calle Sequoia, where they quickly left after realizing the victim was home. The suspects continued with their criminal activity and forced entry to a home on Marimar Street. While the suspects were in the house, the victim returned home. The suspects fled out the back door with stolen property and sped off in a gray Nissan Maxima. The victim remained composed, moved to safety, and called “911.” The victim relayed the vehicle description and last known direction of travel. Sheriff’s dispatch broadcasted the information and a deputy from Thousand Oaks Patrol observed the vehicle on the SB US 101 highway, near Lindero Canyon Road. A vehicle pursuit ensued, and deputies followed the suspect vehicle on and off the freeway until it collided with numerous cars on the NB US 101 off ramp at Lindero Canyon Road. The suspect vehicle, although damaged, continued to the intersection of Lindero Canyon Road and Agoura Road where it ultimately stopped. Two males and one female fled on foot from the suspect vehicle. Sheriff’s patrol sergeants, deputies and members from the Thousand Oaks Investigations Bureau saturated the area. The female suspect was found hiding in the bushes near the car and one of the male suspects was chased and apprehended. Patrol supervisors organized a thorough search of the area and deployed the Sheriff’s helicopter and K9 units, however the third suspect was not located. The two suspects apprehended were identified as Devon Perry from Van Nuys and Sharnice Lewis from Los Angeles. Thousand Oaks Career Criminal Detectives responded to each of the burglaries and were able to identify the suspect vehicle at all three locations. Detectives communicated with the deputies who searched the suspect vehicle and were able to positively identify stolen property from the homes on Houston Street and Marimar Drive. Later in the day, a fourth residential burglary was reported on Alamos Drive. Detectives confirmed stolen property from that burglary was found in the suspect vehicle. Detectives are actively working to identify and apprehend the outstanding suspect. Sharnice Lewis and Devon Perry were both arrested and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for four counts of first-degree residential burglary. The bail for each was set at $300,000. Their court dates have been set for November 5, 2021, at 1:00 PM. |
