IMPD Homicide Detectives Make Arrest in Homicide Investigation

COMMUNITY MESSAGE: Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives arrested a juvenile suspect on Sunday, October 10, 2021, for his alleged involvement in a homicide investigation in the 1200 block of Windsor Street.

On Sunday, October 10, 2021, just before 5:00 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) East District officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Windsor Street on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located an adult female with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s). The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the victim was unfortunately pronounced deceased.     

Homicide detectives responded and began their investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence.
 
Homicide detectives continued their investigation and were able to arrest an alleged juvenile suspect. On October 10, 2021, Homicide Detectives arrested a juvenile for his involvement in this case. The Marion County Prosecutors Office (MCPO) will review the case and determine a final charging decision.

An arrest is merely an accusation, and the suspect is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. A booking photo and the name of the suspect or age are not available at this time. This investigation is still ongoing.
