*UPDATE* #LASD Homicide Responded to a Shooting Death Investigation, 42100blk Sierra Hwy, #Lancaster
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man. The incident occurred on Monday, October 11, 2021, at approximately 12:12 a.m., on the 42100 block of Sierra Highway in Lancaster.
Lancaster Station deputies responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. The caller indicated that an individual inside the restaurant shot at security guards and the suspect was possibly still at the location. When deputies arrived, they discovered one of the security guards in-front of the location suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He indicated that the suspect was still inside the location. Also outside the location was another male victim (employee of location) who suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound during the incident.
Deputies attempted to communicate with the suspect inside to no avail. Believing this could now be a barricaded situation, our Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) was notified and responded to the location. SEB arrived and determined the possible suspect was still inside the location. They were able to make contact with a female victim inside the location prior to making entry.
Members of SEB made entry into the location and discovered the possible suspect (male Hispanic 51 years-old) suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim (43 year old female Hispanic), sustained a gunshot wound and was rescued from the location.
Detectives learned there was possibly an altercation that occurred inside the location. The security guards responded and became involved, then a shooting occurred.
The first located victim (security guard), male Hispanic 44 years-old, was treated for a gunshot wound to the upper torso, he is in serious condition.
The rescued female victim, Hispanic 43 years-old, was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to a lower extremity.
The third victim (employee), was transported to a local hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower torso.
The investigation is still ongoing.
