*UPDATE *#LASD Homicide Detectives Responded to Deputy Involved Shooting Invst. 10000 block of Obregon St. #Whittier
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is continuing its investigation into the deputy-involved shooting that occurred on the 10000 block of Obregon St., in unincorporated Whittier.
Detectives have learned that deputies assigned to the Pico Rivera Station were on patrol Sunday, October 10, 2021 at approximately 4:53 P.M. when they observed an adult male Hispanic walking in the middle of the street.
The deputies pulled alongside the suspect and began speaking to him. The driver stopped the vehicle and continued the conversation. While speaking with him, the suspect produced a firearm from his person and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The deputies were still seated in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures. The suspect was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Detectives are processing evidence at the scene and conducting interviews with witnesses.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to the 10000 block of Obregon Street, in the unincorporated area of Whittier regarding a deputy involved shooting death investigation. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at approximately 4:53 p.m.
The male adult was pronounced dead at the scene.
