On October 1, 2021, deputies with the Moorpark Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a burglary of an inhabited residence, often referred to as a “hot prowl”, that had just occurred in the 6400 block of Yale Avenue in Moorpark. On October 2, 2021, deputies with the Thousand Oaks Police Department contacted (A) Jorge Andres Rodriguez Aguirre in the 2400 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks. Deputies with the Moorpark Police Department and Thousand Oaks Police Department collaborated and were able to determine Rodriguez Aguirre was the suspect in the burglary. On October 1, 2021, deputies contacted the victim of the burglary and determined a lone suspect had approached the front door of the residence and knocked on the front door for several minutes. After there was no answer at the front door, the suspect walked to a side garage door and entered the residence. A victim was inside the garage and screamed when the suspect entered, causing him to flee immediately. On October 2, 2021, the victim was working at a business in the 2400 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks and observed the suspect inside the business. The victim immediately notified the Thousand Oaks Police Department, who responded to investigate. Deputies responded and learned the suspect had left the business, but they were able to contact him in a vehicle parked behind the business. The suspect was identified as Jorge Andres Rodriguez Aguirre, who was determined to be a Columbian National. Deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Station collaborated with deputies from the Moorpark Police Station to gather information related to the burglary that occurred in Moorpark. Based on the pro-active teamwork between deputies from both police departments, deputies were able to locate evidence linking Rodriguez Aguirre to the burglary in Moorpark. Deputies arrested Rodriguez Aguirre for PC 459 – Residential Burglary and booked him into the East Valley Jail. |
