Green Bay Detectives are investigating a suspicious death and are asking for the public's assistance.
At 12:26 am the Brown County Communication Center received a 911 call for a grass fire by the Arboretum Entrance walking path of the UWGB campus, near the intersection of Sussex Rd and Champeau Rd. When UWGB Police arrived they put the fire out with an extinguisher and discovered a deceased male. Additional resources were requested and responded to the location.
Green Bay Police responded to assist and held the scene until Green Bay Detectives arrived. With the assistance of the Forensics Division and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s office, the scene was processed and evidence was collected. This case is being investigated as a homicide at this time.
The preliminary description of the victim is a light skinned male, 20-30’s, short dark hair with a trimmed beard. He was medium build and approximately six foot tall. The victim has not yet been identified and Green Bay Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the male.
Investigators canvassed the area and are reviewing surveillance camera footage. Additional information will be become available once it’s obtained. As stated in the earlier release, there is no reason to believe that the general public is in any danger.
