Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 54 year old black man in unincorporated Los Angeles. 
 
Deputies from South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of West 111th Street and South Hobart Boulevard regarding a shots fired call at 8:43 Wednesday morning. 
 
Upon arriving, deputies discovered the victim unresponsive in the driveway of a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 
 
Investigators learned the victim was standing near the intersection when a dark colored sedan drove up. A passenger in the sedan opened fire on the victim as he ran away. An occupant of the sedan exited and chased the victim into a driveway and shot him. 
 
The suspect fled in the sedan westbound 111th Street out of view. 
 
The suspect is described only as a black male in dark clothing. 
 
It is unknown if this shooting is gang related. 
 
There is no further information at this time
