SB Sheriff's Colorado River Marine Enforcement Unit Arrests 12 DUI Boaters Over the Holiday Weekend

SUMMARY: The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Colorado River Station Marine Enforcement Unit conducted its 2021 Labor Day Marine Enforcement Operation starting on Friday, September 3 through Monday, September 6. The operation was conducted along the Colorado River from the California/Nevada state line to the Riverside County line as well as Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead.
Most of the operation was focused on the waterways with resorts, launch ramps and marinas along the Colorado River and lakes. A total of eleven patrol vessels, an OHV team, the Sheriff's Dive Team and two Sheriff's Department helicopters were deployed throughout the area. The Marine Enforcement unit conducted a total of 188 enforcement stops throughout the holiday weekend. There were a total of 12 arrests made for boating under the influence. The following are the names of the individuals arrested during the operation:
Christopher Carmody, 37-years-old, Santa Clarita, CA (boating under the influence)
Roger Carillo, 37-years-old, Long Beach, CA (boating under the influence)
Heather Land, 28-years-old, Glendale, AZ (boating under the influence)
Matthew McLemore, 42-years-old, Buckeye, AZ (boating under the influence)
Andrew Fusaro, 27-years-old, Fontana, CA (boating under the influence)
Dustin McCullum, 52-years-old, La Quinta, CA (boating under the influence)
Christopher Owen, 35-years-old, Hesperia, CA (boating under the influence)
Joshua Sackheim, 29-years-old, Valley Village, CA (boating under the influence)
Jacob Del Castillo, 29-years-old, Chino Hills, CA (boating under the influence)
Bryan Bourdlaies, 40-years-old, Riverside, CA (boating under the influence)
Jorge Atilano, 30-years-old, Ontario, CA (boating under the influence)
Sean McGillicuddy, 35-years-old, San Diego, CA (boating under the influence)
Approximately 47 citations were issued for various boating law violations, as well as 141 verbal warnings.
The Marine Enforcement Unit investigated an injury boat accident on Lake Havasu near Crazy Horse Campground. The injured party from this accident was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center. The Marine Enforcement Unit also investigated a near drowning at Copper Canyon. The injured party was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center.
