On September 6, 2021, at 9:15 PM, APD officers were called to the OYO Hotel in the 1600 block of East Interstate 40 on an injured male inside of a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers located the male in the back lot of the hotel. The investigation showed that the male was shot inside a room of the hotel and then walked to the vehicle. The male was found deceased inside of the vehicle. The victim was identified as Dillon Louis Austin, 37-year-old male. No arrests have been made in this incident.
