Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Hauppauge yesterday afternoon.
 
Peter Barreto was operating a 2021 Yamaha motorcycle when he lost of the vehicle and crashed into a fence in front of 35 Robin Drive at approximately 4:50 p.m. Barreto, 36, of Hauppauge, was transported by Commack Rescue ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631- 854-8452.
