Narrative:

Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team developed information Robby Ensign was involved in narcotics sales in the Ojai area. Based on this information, detectives obtained a search warrant for Ensign’s person, vehicle and his residence located in the 200 Block of Riverside Road in the unincorporated Community of Oak View.

On July 29, 2021, deputies observed Ensign in his vehicle in the Oak View area.  Sheriff’s detectives detained Ensign pursuant to the search warrant. A search of Ensign’s vehicle yielded approximately four ounces of methamphetamine and other evidence to support drug sales.

A search warrant was later conducted at his residence. Detectives seized additional methamphetamine and paraphernalia consistent with a drugs sales operation.  Based on the investigation, Ensign was arrested for various narcotics sales related crimes. Ensign is currently out on bail awaiting court proceedings.

The Sheriff’s Narcotics Street Team is committed to investigating drug sales and related crimes throughout Ventura County.  Detectives work closely with patrol officers and detectives assigned to the Ojai Police Station to identify drug dealers and put them out of business.  We encourage members of the community to report drug information or activity to the Narcotics Unit at 805-383-8700 or to Crime Stoppers.
