Sammy Mills was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after assaulting two victims & causing severe head injuries

LOCATION: 1000 Block of W. Broadway Street Needles, CA
SUSPECT: Sammy Mills, 40 years old, resident of Needles
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department were conducting welfare checks on local homeless people. One of the homeless was suffering from a severe head wound. A short time later, another homeless man was found a few blocks away with a severe head injury. Through an investigation, it was determined Sammy Mills used a bat and a stick to assault both victims. The victims were transported to the Colorado River Medical Center for their injuries sustained from the attack.
Mills was located hours later in a residence, subsequently arrested for PC 245(a)(1), Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked at the Needles jail on $50,000 bail pending a court hearing.
