INCIDENT:                PC 311.11 (A) Possession of Child Pornography

SUSPECT:                Steven Berg, 40 years old, resident of Fort Irwin
                                     
SUMMARY:
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Crimes Against Children Detail (CAC) and Sheriff’s Hi-Tech Division, began an investigation into the downloading, possession, and distribution of child pornography. Through investigation, it was determined the child pornography was distributed from a home in Fort Irwin. 
 
On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, personnel from CAC, Hi-Tech Crime Detail, San Bernardino County Probation Department, and the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) served a search warrant at a residence in 5200 block of Bighorn Lane, Fort Irwin. Steven Berg was found to be in possession of child pornography. Berg was also on supervised probation for PC 311.11 (a) possession of child pornography. At the conclusion of the investigation, Berg was arrested for possession of child pornography. Berg was subsequently booked into the High Desert Detention Center and his bail was set at $25,000.00.
 
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is a member of the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which works cooperatively with a vast network of local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to pursue those who violate crimes of child exploitation.
