On August 7, 2021 at 10:19 pm, Sunnyvale officers responded to the 1400 block of Navarro Drive on report of a music disturbance from a large party. Upon arrival, officers were met with an estimated 150-200 attendees, many who were ages 16-19. As officers were staged awaiting additional resources and attempting to identify the home owner, they heard shots fired coming from the location of the party. Two adult victims were located with gun shot wounds and officers began emergency medical treatment. The two victims were transported to a local hospital in San Jose where one of the victims sadly died as a result of his injuries. The second victim is currently in surgery and is expected to survive.
