Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man. The incident was reported Sunday, August 1, 2021, at approximately 1:52 a.m., on the 200 block of West Ovington Street in Lancaster.
Lancaster Station deputies responded to a gunshot victim call on the 200 block of Pillsbury Street, Lancaster. When they arrived, they found a male Black suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigators learned the victim was standing outside his vehicle on Ovington Street, when he was confronted by a suspect(s). The suspect starting shooting at the victim, the victim was struck by gunfire, and ran into a local business on the 200 block of Pillsbury Street, where he collapsed.
The victim is a male Black 34 years-old.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction. There is no suspect description.
