“This is an update to the July 26^th gasoline release into secondary containment onsite at the Rahway Tank Farm. The material remains contained onsite. Our Bayway Emergency Responders and the Linden Fire Department responded to immediately address and stop the release. Bayway is working 24 hours, 7 days/week to clean up the gasoline. We are making every effort to control the odors of gasoline, which are similar to what you may experience while filling your vehicle at the gas station.

Phillips 66 personnel and a third party monitoring specialty company have been conducting air quality monitoring. Those data indicate no levels of concern in the community, and notifications will be made if this changes. We are working with local officials to ensure the community stays informed. The Linden Office of Emergency Management (OEM) continues to utilize the NIXLE Alert system to facilitate communication.

As onsite cleanup work nears completion, air quality monitoring is continuing to ensure the safety of the community, our people and to protect the environment. This safety priority remains the utmost importance to our company. We appreciate our refinery and community responders for their response and recovery work, and we thank our community members for their patience during this effort.”
