10 Arrested at Palmdale, CA DUI Checkpoint
Palmdale Calif. – 1 driver was arrested for operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device while conducting a DUI checkpoint on Friday, July 16, 2021.
The checkpoint was held at Rancho Vista Boulevard/ 21st Street West from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
10 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 1,462 vehicles were contacted. 5 vehicles were towed.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.
Then Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will continue to hold DUI/Driver’s License checkpoints throughout the year.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
