Narrative:

A 24-year-old Oxnard man was arrested robbery and shoplifting.

On 5/02/2021, around 1400 hours, a Camarillo deputy responded to The Home Depot reference a shoplift.  Once on scene, it was determined a Hispanic male took tools and attempted to walk out of the store without paying.  The suspect was confronted by an employee, so the suspect removed a black canister that resembled pepper spray from his pocket and held it by his side.  The employee feared he would get sprayed and backed away.  The suspect continued out of the store and got into an awaiting vehicle and fled the scene.

Approximately an hour later, a Thousand Oaks deputy responded to the Ace Hardware store for a report of a shoplift.  The deputy learned an unknown suspect exited the store without paying for a large bulk item.  An employee observed the suspect walk out of the store, get into an awaiting vehicle and flee the area.  Fortunately, the employee was able to capture the vehicle’s license plate number.

Camarillo Detectives followed up on the robbery and determined the same suspect was responsible for the Home Depot robbery and Ace Hardware shoplift.  Detectives identified, Brandon Trujillo as the subject responsible for the robbery and shoplift.

On 6/15/2021, Trujillo, who was already in custody at Todd Road Jail for an unrelated incident, was arrested for his involvement in the robbery and shoplift.  Trujillo remains in custody on $90,000 bail.  Trujillo’s next court date is 6/29/2021.
