#LASD Advising 28 Arrested at DUI Checkpoint June 11, 2021 in #Palmdale 
1 person was arrested for DUI while conducting a DUI checkpoint on June 11, 2021.
The checkpoint was held on Avenue S at 40th Street East from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
27 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license. 3 vehicles were towed.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.
As the state continues to work to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will continue hold DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoints throughout the year.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
