DETAILS:  Ptl. Caulfield was detailed to the Target for a store employee who was being detained for shoplifting. Investigation determined that on two separate dates, Ashley Brown, who was employed by Target but not working at the time of the thefts, brought items to the self-checkout. She scanned some items, which she paid for, but failed to pay for others. Brown was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Mahon investigated the report of a theft from a vehicle parked overnight at The Mews. The vehicle was likely unlocked, and someone stole the wallet that had been inside. Later that day, the victim’s stolen credit/debit cards were used at a sneaker store in Irvington (NJ), at Popeye’s Chicken in Elizabeth (NJ) and attempted to be used at ATMs.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to the Clarion Hotel for a female who was breaking windows and assaulting an employee. Investigation determined the following: An employee of the hotel who was staying overnight in a hotel room awoke to someone banging on her door and screaming, but she ignored it. A long-term resident of the hotel, Ruth Black, was at the door and then used a landscaping rock to break the front window. The employee immediately ran into the bathroom and locked the door. She could hear Black screaming about someone sleeping with her husband, and knowing that she did no such thing, the victim came out of the bathroom to show Black she had the wrong person and room. Black then grabbed her by the hair, punched her in the face, and got on top of her. Another hotel employee saw what happened, repeatedly told Black to let the victim go, and Black then retreated to her hotel room. When officers went to arrest Black she resisted them and caused minor injuries to one of the arresting officers. Black was processed at WWPD Headquarters and later committed to the Mercer County Corrections Center.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  The Mews at Princeton Junction

DETAILS:  Ptl. Nagy was detailed to The Mews for a vehicle that was stolen from the parking lot. Investigation determined the following: The victim had left his 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee unlocked with the keyless start key fob inside. While officers were checking the area, the owner of the Jeep received a call from the South Brunswick Police Department in reference to his vehicle being involved in a crash. The Jeep was reportedly racing another vehicle on U.S. Route 1 and had crashed into two cars before overturning. Two males dressed in black, wearing face masks, and with hoods pulled over their heads, crawled out from under the wrecked Jeep and fled. It was later found out that the other vehicle that was racing the Jeep, a black Volvo SUV, had been stolen out of East Brunswick. Several other burglaries to unlocked vehicles occurred at the Estates at Princeton Junction that same morning and were connected to the stolen black Volvo SUV.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to a dispute involving two individuals
standing outside of their car, while the car was blocking the center lane of Quakerbridge Rd. One of the individuals, Donald McKnew provided a false name to officers. After his true identity was discovered, it was determined that he was a “Wanted Person” out of Bucks County, PA. McKnew was processed at WWPD Headquarters and transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center to await extradition to Pennsylvania.

DETAILS:  Ptl. LaForge responded to a car in the roadway at the intersection of Old Trenton Rd. and Edinburg Rd. where the driver was reported to be asleep. Ptl. LaForge located the red Toyota sedan driving on Edinburg where he observed it stop at a green light, then go and stop again, this time in the middle of the intersection. Once the car got going, it drifted onto the double yellow lane markings, and Ptl. LaForge initiated a stop on the car. During the stop, Edgar Solanoarpi was determined to be DWI. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to a driver who was “passed out” in a white Mazda which was stopped in the roadway. Ptl. LaForge found the driver, Jeffrey Barnal slumped over in the driver’s seat while the vehicle was still running. Barnal was not initially responsive, but eventually woke up. During the investigation, and with the assistance of Ptl. Zicha and his drug detecting K9 Hodge, Barnal was found to be in possession of heroin, prescription pills including controlled narcotics, and drug paraphernalia. Barnal was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court. A drug recovery counselor from Recovery Advocates also came to headquarters to speak with Barnal about the CARE (Community Addiction Recovery Effort) Program.

DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to the Clarion Hotel for a person who had booked his stay online using what was determined to have been stolen credit card information. Officers went to the room in question where Stewart Wilson and Taylor Pursell were found to be staying. In addition to credit card fraud and theft of services, through the course of the investigation, Wilson was found to be in possession of a Glock handgun that was loaded with hollow point bullets contained in a high capacity magazine, and also had an additional loaded high capacity magazine. Both Wilson and Pursell were in possession of cocaine and numerous prepackaged small glass containers containing crack cocaine. Pursell also provided false names and dates of birth to investigating officers. After uncovering her true identity, she was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest from Hamilton, Lawrence, Ewing, and Woodland, NJ. Both Wilson and Purcell were processed at WWPD Headquarters. After processing they were transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
