LOCATION: 1200 bock of Beach Drive, Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Robert Miller, 84 years old male resident of Needles
SUMMARY: On Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 5:23 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Beach Drive in the city of Needles regarding a missing person report. Deputies learned that Robert Miller, an 84-year-old male with various medical issues, walked away from a family residence, and search efforts immediately began.
Along with patrol deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department, a Sheriff's helicopter and a tracking dog initially responded to assist. Search efforts continued with the use of search and rescue units, citizens on patrol personnel, members from the Sheriff's marine enforcement unit, Sheriff's aviation, and additional deputies and detectives. The search efforts remained continuous and ongoing.
All leads and information were investigated to include sightings of Miller at various locations within the city.
**Update**
On Monday, May 24, 2021, at approximately 8:52 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the area of River Road and River Street in Needles regarding a deceased male subject. The male subject was identified as the missing person, Robert Miller, and the next of kin has been notified.
