Narrative:
On May 14, 2021, detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Gang Unit concluded a narcotics sales investigation involving Jadden Dempsey from Oxnard and arrested him for cocaine sales and various firearms violations.

During the first week of May 2021, detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Gang Unit obtained information indicating Dempsey was involved in the sales of cocaine and was possibly in possession of illegally obtained firearms.  Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to gather enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for Dempsey, his vehicle and residence located in the 2300 Block of Kingsbridge Lane in Oxnard.

Dempsey was contacted and detained pursuant to the search warrant.  During the search, detectives located cocaine packaged for sale and evidence indicative of narcotics sales.  Detectives also located a loaded short-barreled AR-15 style rifle that did not have a serial number as required per the California Department of Justice.  Additionally, the rifle had characteristics which classify it as an assault weapon per state law.

Detectives located two additional unregistered firearms in the residence.  One firearm was unregistered and is commonly referred to as a “Ghost Gun” due to the lack of commercial serial number, which make the firearm untraceable and allows the possessor to circumvent regulated background checks by the Department of Justice.  Evidence at the residence indicated Dempsey was building these firearms himself.  The second Glock firearm located had a serial number but was not registered to any occupant of the residence.

Dempsey was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and was later released after posting bail.
