INCIDENT:  Carjacking
 
LOCATION: Foothill Road and High Road, Lucerne Valley, CA
 
SUSPECT(S):  Amit Kamar Sharma, a 28-year-old resident of Apple Valley             
 
VICTIM(S):  49-year-old male resident of Apple Valley
 
 
SUMMARY: On Monday, April 26, 2021, at approximately 1:26 pm, Deputy Kent Watson with the Apple Valley Police Department was flagged down by a subject who advised his vehicle was stolen.
 
Upon further investigation, it was learned, the victim and the suspect, Amit Kamar Sharma, are known to each other. On Saturday, April 24, 2021, while the victim was giving Sharma a ride to Lucerne Valley, Sharma tried to stab him.  After dropping the victim off at home, Sharma stole the victim's car.
 
Deputy Watson authored an arrest warrant, and on April 26, 2021, at 11:29 pm, deputies from the Victorville Police Department located and arrested Sharma without incident. Sharma was transported to High Desert Detention Center, where he was booked on suspicion of carjacking. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on April 28, 2021 and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
