Don’t lose your wallet!  Picture this, you are shopping at a local retailer and someone asks you a question. Soon after, a couple more people ask you questions. Next thing you know, your wallet is missing! How did this happen?  Unfortunately, Rohnert Park Public Safety and neighboring cities are experiencing wallet thefts. The suspects will ask questions as a distraction to turn your attention away from your purse. Once distracted, your wallet is stolen. The suspects will be gone by the time you realize your wallet is missing. 

We want to remind you of some wallet theft and loss prevention tips. 

• Pickpockets often work in teams so be aware of your surroundings. 
• Don’t leave your purse in your cart. 
• Don’t have a note in your wallet with your ATM code. 
• Leave social security cards at home or in a secure location, not inside your wallet. 
• Travel light, if a theft happens you want to have minimal cash and credit cards in your wallet. 

The best defense in wallet theft is to minimize the opportunity. Keep your purse with you at all times and stay aware of your surroundings.

¡No pierdas la cartera!  Imagínate esto, estás comprando en un minorista local y alguien te hace una pregunta. Poco después, un par de personas más te hacen preguntas. ¡Lo siguiente que sabes es que te falta la cartera! ¿Cómo sucedió esto?   Desafortunadamente, Seguridad Pública de Rohnert Park y las ciudades vecinas están experimentando robos de cartera. Los sospechosos harán preguntas como una distracción para desviar su atención de su bolso. Una vez distraído, te roban la cartera. Los sospechosos se habrán ido cuando te des cuenta de que tu billetera está desaparecida.

Queremos recordarle algunos consejos de prevención de pérdidas y robo de carteras. 

*Los carteristas  trabajan en equipos, así que ten en cuenta tu entorno.
*No dejes tu bolso en tu carrito. 
*No tenga una nota en su billetera con su código de cajero automático (ATM). 
*Deje las tarjetas de seguro social en casa o en un lugar seguro, no dentro de su billetera. 
*Viaje a la lijera, si ocurre un robo que desea tener mínimo efectivo y tarjetas de crédito en su cartera. 

*La mejor defensa en el robo de cartera es minimizar la oportunidad. Mantenga su bolso con usted en todo momento y manténgase al tanto de su entorno.
