Chelsea Miranda and Travis Hunter were arrested for child endangerment and possession of explosives & narcotics

LOCATION: 400 Block North K St., Needles, CA
 
 
SUSPECT(S): Chelsea Miranda, 28 years old, resident of Needles, CA
                        Travis Hunter, 46 years old, resident of Needles, CA
 
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, April 14, 2021 deputies from the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department executed a search warrant on the 400 block of North K St. within the city of Needles.  Deputies located suspected heroin and suspected methamphetamine.  Additionally, numerous articles of paraphernalia were found in different places within the residence.  All of the objects were within the accessible area of the child at the location.  Miranda was home alone with the child at the time of the execution of the search warrant.  Miranda was charged with child endangerment and possession of controlled substance for sale. 
 
The father of the child and cohabitant at Miranda's home, Travis Hunter, was located a short distance away while driving his vehicle.  He was found to be in possession of dangerous fireworks and charged with possession of explosives as well as child endangerment.
 
Miranda and Hunter were taken into custody and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Miranda was booked for PC273A, Child Endangerment and is being held on $100,000. bail pending a court hearing. Hunter was booked for PC 8715(A)(1), Possession of Explosive Device and PC 273(A) Child Endangerment and is being held on $500,000. bail, pending a court hearing.
