LOCATION: 1100 block of W. Broadway Street in the city of Needles
 
SUSPECT: Ruben Medrano, 48 years old, resident of Needles
 
VICTIM: State of California
 
 
SUMMARY:
On April 14, 2021, at approximately 6:07 p.m. deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department were dispatched to a suspicious person call on the 1100 block of W. Broadway Street in Needles. During the investigation it was determined Ruben Medrano assaulted a local resident.
 
Deputies attempted to arrest Medrano who resisted, and with the assistance of a citizen he was taken into custody. The deputy was not injuried during the arrest. Medrano wa booked for PC 240; Assault, PC 148(A)1; Resisting a Peace Officer and PC 3455; PRCS Probation Violation.
 
Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) is a form of supervision for an offender who has been released from a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) institution to the jurisdiction of a county agency, pursuant to the California Legislature's Post Release Community Supervision Act of 2011. Penal Code (PC) Section 3451 states that all persons released from prison on or after October 1, 2011, after serving a prison term for a felony and, if eligible, upon release from prison shall be subject to supervision provided by a county agency. Those on PRCS are supervised by the San Bernardino County Probation Department.
