FIRST POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE

SUBJECT: COVID-19
 
LOCAL RISK FACTOR: Medium
 
FIRST POSITIVE CASE: Today the Saint Paul Island Unified Command was informed that an individual performing essential work in our community has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual tested negative for COVID-19 prior to traveling to the island. The individual will complete a 10-day isolation on the island. 
 
ACTIONS TAKEN: The Saint Paul Island Unified Command has taken the following steps to ensure the safety of the community:
  • All passengers who traveled with the positive individual are in quarantine; and have been contacted  to begin a new 14-day quarantine effective today.
  • All identified people confirmed to be working the with positive individual and those they reside with were contacted to begin a 14-day quarantine effective today.
 
TESTING: The Saint Paul Health Center is setting up a COVID-19 testing location in a shed located outside the health center. Starting tomorrow, April 1, 2021 at 10:00 am, testing will be available for any community members that feel like they may have been exposed. . Please call the health center at 546-8300 to schedule an appointment for a test.
 
EMERGENCY CITY COUNCIL MEETING:  The Saint Paul City Council will meet Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 10:00 am to review Emergency Ordinance 21-93, a Proclamation of Emergency, “Hunker Down” order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 throughout Saint Paul Island.
