Here we go again. Our resident Meteorologist Lt. McMahon believes we are going to get a good amount of snow and based on his report and the report from the NWS, I am giving an Elsa index of 6 for about 6" of snow. Olaf index is a 6 as well due to good snow making and packing. This is also a snow clearing alert for those with medical conditions. Do not shovel. This snow will be too heavy. Use the child lives at home App - its free.

Garbage / Recycling - Recycling Collection is cancelled today (2/18) and will now be collected on Saturday (2/20).
Garbage Collection is cancelled today (2/18), please expect a one day delay in collection. Collection is anticipated to resume on Friday into Saturday to service areas that are scheduled for a Thursday and Friday collection. If you are scheduled for the Thursday or Friday collection, please place your trash at the curb by 6am on Friday (2/19).
If you currently have your recycling or trash cans at the curb, please remove so we can safely plow the streets during the snow storm.

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for eastern Pennsylvania, most of New Jersey, northern Delaware and a portion of northeast Maryland.
 Snow develops very late tonight/early Thursday morning, and may become heavy at times through early Thursday afternoon (about 6 AM through 2 PM) when hourly snowfall rates up to 1 inch is possible. This is when road conditions would rapidly deteriorate and become hazardous, especially with temperatures below freezing.
 Snowfall amounts along and south/east of I-95 will depend on how much mixing occurs. There are some indications that a longer period of sleet may occur within a zone across this area.
 A little farther south and east storm track translates to colder air southeastward, which would reduce the freezing rain aspect. However, this will depend on how much of a warm layer aloft is present and how far inland it gets.
 The bulk of the accumulating snow still looks to occur Thursday into Thursday night, with some lighter wintry precipitation lingering into Friday.

JCP&L Monitoring Weather and Prepared to Respond  
Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) meteorologists are closely monitoring the developing weather conditions. JCP&L is prepared to activate its storm response and Incident Command System plans.  
In the event outages occur due to severe weather, customers without power are encouraged to report their outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.    
Customers should immediately report downed wires to 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or call their local police department.  JCP&L reminds customers to stay away from downed wires, even if they believe they are no longer carrying electricity.  Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled with trees or other debris.  Motorists are cautioned to treat intersections with inoperable traffic signals as four-way stops.

If your fuse or breakers are in a flooded area, do not go near them until the water recedes or is removed.
