NOTICE: Sheltering and Warming Center
We’ve posted several posts about warming shelter availability at the FBC (First Baptist Church of Farmersville). Additionally, we have other local sheltering facilities on stand-by. These shelters are set up for over-night stay if needed or to get warm, shower, etc…As a police department, we’ve come across a lot of folks, especially at night, sleeping or staying in their vehicles to stay warm. Understandable, but please take advantage of these shelters if possible.

The police and fire department have remained busy conducting welfare checks within the city and fire district. Please let us know if you need some’ one checked on and/or need assistance getting to the shelter. We do have limited resources and depending on call load it may take us longer to get to you or conduct a check if needed. So please take advantage now while we have daylight and staff availability to make arrangements for sheltering if needed.

Rolling blackouts and outages in the county, region, and statewide are expected to be continued late into the week if not longer. Also, the weather will continue to worsen by sunset today and into the early morning hours into Wednesday through Friday.
