*ARREST MADE* #LASD Homicide Investigators Announce Arrest of Man Accused of 3 Murders in Homeless Community

Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the murder of Victims Patrica Loeza, Kenneth Jones, and Cesar Mazariegos.

On June 7, 2020, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Victim Patricia Loeza (female Hispanic 26 years-old) was found down a dirt embankment, east of the Compton Creek Bed, north of Del Amo Boulevard suffering from stab wounds to the upper torso.  She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On January 15, 2021, at approximately 3:28 p.m., Victim Kenneth Jones (male Black 26 years-old) was also found with stab wounds to the upper torso, as well as blunt force trauma to the head.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Victim Jones was found east of the Compton Creek Bed, north of Del Amo Boulevard not far from where Victim Loeza was found.

On February 9, 2021, Carson Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling the Compton Creek Bed regarding the murders of Victim Loeza and Victim Jones.  Deputies discovered Victim Cesar Mazariegos (male Hispanic 30 years-old) on the east side of the Compton Creek, down a dirt embankment near where Victim Loeza and Victim Jones were located.  Victim Mazariegos had also suffered stab wounds to the upper torso and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

All three of the victims were killed in close proximity to each other and all three victims appeared to have been homeless, possibly staying homeless encampments at or near the Compton Creek Bed.

Through investigation, Suspect Tracy Walker (Booking #6124021, male Black 56 years-old) was identified as being involved in all three of the murders.  Detectives were able to locate Suspect Walker at a homeless encampment next to the Compton Creek Bed on February 11, 2021.  He was arrested for murder and currently is being held on $2,000,000 bail.

While being interviewed by Homicide Detectives, Suspect Walker implicated himself in the murders of Victims Loeza, Jones and Mazariegos.

The facts regarding all three cases will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
