Here is an update:
Mayor Marathe & Emergency Management Chief Tim Lynch have issued a local State of Emergency.
State of Emergency
Sunday, January  31,2021,2000 hours

A State of Emergency has been declared due to a severe winter storm which will impact the Township with heavy snow and wind until Tuesday, February 2, 2021, 1200 hours. The Townships   limiting the movement of vehicular traffic on affected roadways to allow for road clearing.

West Windsor Township Offices – Closed

Public Works has already been out treating the road. They will continue to do so but conditions on bridges and ramps will be horrible due to the continued snow fall. Stay home please!

Garbage – Monday Suspended  (Will be picked up Tuesday)
Cars – Move them off the roadway whenever possible.

County OEM Emergency Declaration:
                Restricted Travel
                Closing of ALL State Mega Sites for Vaccines.
                CURE Arena site is closed for Monday 2/1/2021 Decision to                   be made for Tuesday 2/2/2021

Elsa Index – still a 9 – some chance of mixed precipitation.
Olaf Index – Now a 9 – great snow making but very heavy. Please use caution and leave the snow shoveling for those who enjoy it and the kids. This is a serious one! Please don’t lift heavy snow.

Dorothy Index is now active with an 8 for heavy winds. It’s definitely a secure Toto event. Wind gusts may bring lines down. Please don’t call 911 for power loss but text your provider. We use active maps for both providers and see what is out so we already know.

Fire Hydrants / Sidewalks – Clear Hydrants as soon as possible. Our firefighters need your help in identifying and being able to access them to save lives. Sidewalks, by ordinance, need to be cleared as well to keep others from getting hurt. We get tons of calls from your neighbors and then we have to make a visit and remind people. We hate doing it so please help.

Driving - Please don't. If you have to, clear the ENTIRE windshield front and back and roof. Please remove snow from the roof!!!!! Please remove snow from the roof!!! Please!

Pets - Warm and under the covers. We get calls from them too. Please keep them in. It’s also the law.

JCP&L Monitoring Weather and Prepared to Respond  
Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) meteorologists are closely monitoring the developing weather conditions. JCP&L is prepared to activate its storm response and Incident Command System plans.  
In the event outages occur due to severe weather, customers without power are encouraged to report their outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.    
Customers should immediately report downed wires to 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or call their local police department.  JCP&L reminds customers to stay away from downed wires, even if they believe they are no longer carrying electricity.  Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled with trees or other debris.  Motorists are cautioned to treat intersections with inoperable traffic signals as four-way stops.

Report problems 

 It is important to always report outages to PSE&G. Don’t assume someone else has reported it, even if it’s your next door neighbor. It is easy to report your outage via our Customer Service line at 1-800-436-7734 or online through MyAccount. 

If your fuse or breakers are in a flooded area, do not go near them until the water recedes or is removed.
