Suspect Arrested.

In the continuing investigation into the January 18, 2021 murder of Ramon Luis Gomez (male Hispanic, 36 years old of Montebello), Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators identified the suspected shooter as Felipe Sanchez (male Hispanic, 30 years old of El Monte).

 Additionally, investigators were able to identify the vehicle, a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder, used by the suspect in the murder.  On Monday, January 25, 2021, Baldwin Park Police Department Officers located the vehicle in a retail parking lot in the city of Baldwin Park. 

A short time later, Sanchez, along with the 32 year old female Hispanic driver of the vehicle, were arrested without incident during a traffic stop.
 
Suspect Sanchez was charged with a single count of murder in Pasadena Superior Court on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.  He remains in custody on $3,050,000 bail and his arraignment is set for Monday February 1, 2021.
 
The female, who is not being identified, was released from custody.

Sheriff’s Homicide investigators continue investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a Hispanic man in his forties in unincorporated South San Gabriel. 
 
Deputies from Temple Sheriff’s Station responded to a strip mall parking lot in the 8100 block of Arroyo Drive regarding a call of a gunshot victim. Upon arriving they discovered the victim unresponsive in the mall’s driveway.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 
 
There is no suspect description at this time and the murder weapon remains outstanding.  
 
It is unknown if this shooting is gang related.
