A violent felon was arrested for possession of body armor, possession of a stolen vehicle, and vehicle theft.

LOCATION: Civic Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Matthew Ehlen, 38-year old Fontana resident
Jessi Rae Dennison, 38-year old Rancho Cucamonga resident
VICTIM(S): Copart Auto Auctions, Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY: On January 21, 2021, Deputy A. Ramos, with the Victorville Police Department, received tracking information on two stolen vehicles. The two vehicles had been reported stolen from Copart Auto Auctions, in Rancho Cucamonga, the same morning. With the assistance of Deputy C. Bennington, the 2017 Dodge pickup and the 2017 Cadillac it was towing were located in the area of Civic Drive and Seneca Road.
As deputies contacted the driver, Matthew Ehlen, they discovered he was wearing a body armor vest. A record check on Ehlen showed he was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing body armor. Ehlen and his passenger, Jessi Rae Dennison, were arrested without incident. Ehlen was booked at High Desert Detention Center for violent felon in possession of body armor, possession of a stolen vehicle, and vehicle theft. Dennison was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for possession of a stolen vehicle.
