INCIDENT: Sexual Assault and Kidnapping Suspect Arrested
LOCATION: West Valley Detention Center 9500 Etiwanda Avenue Rancho Cucamonga, California
SUSPECT(S): Jamaceeo Edwards, a 23-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms, California
SUMMARY: On September 11, 2020, at approximately 9:53 pm, deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to a sexual assault report near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Mesquite Springs Road in the City of Twentynine Palms. During the investigation, deputies learned the victim was walking along the highway when the victim was attacked and sexually assaulted by the suspect. Over the following months, investigators gathered additional evidence and identified Jamaceeo Edwards as the suspect of the assault. Edwards is currently in custody for an unrelated burglary investigation.
On January 13, 2021, Sheriff's Deputies booked Jamaceeo Edwards at the West Valley Detention Center for his violations of PC 286(c )(2)(a) - Sodomy by Force/Violence/Fear, PC 207 (A) - Kidnapping, and PC 289(A)(1)(A) - Penetration with a Foreign Object: Force. Edwards is currently being held in lieu of $250,000.00 bail.
