SHERIFF VICTOR HILL’S Elite PANTHER Squad Captures Domestic Violence Murder Suspect
Yesterday, January 12th, 2021, Clayton County Police responded to a trouble unknown call in Forest Park where a female caller requested police, but refused to give out any other information. Upon their arrival, the female caller had already left the location.
Later on in the day, Clayton County dispatch receive a call from Atlanta Medical Center in reference to a male victim with a gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to AMC by a female who told the medical staff that she shot him. The female left the hospital and the male victim later succumbed to his injuries and died.
Clayton County Homicide Detectives located video surveillance at the location where there was unknown trouble and were able to see the victim with the same female who dropped him off at AMC. Detectives identified the female as Lakerria Williams. In the video, the victim is seen putting clothing into his vehicle and when he walks back towards his apartment, Williams pulls a gun from her coat pocket and shoots him. Once detectives spoke to the victim’s mother, they discovered that Williams sent her text messages stating that she was going to kill her son.
The Sheriff immediately called in his elite domestic violence team (“PANTHER”) and ordered a manhunt for Williams for murder. Members of the Sheriff’s Fugitive Squad assisted as well and the hunt took them into Fulton County where Fulton County Sheriff’s newly formed “VIPER” unit assisted as well.
After feeling the pressure of being subject of a search, Williams called the commander of PANTHER stating that she was ready to turn herself in. Williams was arrested at the Waffle House on Old National Highway without incident and is now a guest at “The Hill-ton” facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
