Chief Garofalo cherishes our seniors and doesn't like when conspirators attempt to swindle them out of their hard earned money. If you have a family member, friend, or neighbor who's a senior please let them know there are plenty of nefarious individuals looking to separate them from their money using the "Grandparent Bail Scam" in which the victim is contacted by telephone and immediately "needs to provide funds" for their grandchild who has been arrested. This is not only untrue, it's a total ruse by the actors.
Secondly, especially during our festive holidays, Chief Garofalo dislikes when gifts that have been ordered online and delivered to your homes have been stolen by unscrupulous persons. We strongly encourage the usage of surveillance video around your homes if possible, requested a signature for delivery, or asking a trusted neighbor to pick up your items for safe storage. OUr Patrol, Traffic, & Detective Divisions have been actively in your neighborhoods seeking out these individuals who are up to no good.
